National Safe Place Program
The National Safe Place program provides immediate access to safety and support for youth facing crisis situations, including homelessness, family conflict, abuse, trafficking, or other emergencies. As the licensed Safe Place agency for the El Paso area, the El Paso Center for Children works with a network of trusted community partners, including schools, libraries, fire stations, community centers, and public transit locations, where young people can seek help.
Youth who visit a designated Safe Place location are connected with trained professionals who provide immediate assistance, crisis intervention, and access to appropriate community resources. The program also offers a 24-hour helpline, emergency shelter services for youth ages 11–17, a drop-in center, and support for young adults up to age 24.
Safe Place is committed to ensuring that every young person has access to a safe environment and the support they need during difficult times, while also encouraging businesses, organizations, and volunteers to become part of the community safety network.
